Introduction
If you require an ID badge for someone attending, working or visiting your school, your headteacher or admin office can order this for you from the document and data processing team.
A replacement can also be ordered, if the badge holder has:
- lost or broken their badge
- changed their name
- a new job title due to a new job or a restructure.
Purchase information
An ID badge costs £4.30 and includes:
- a plastic credit card sized ID badge printed with the badge holder’s name, job title, name of school and photograph
- choice of either a clip or metal chain.
Terms and conditions of purchase
When you order an ID badge from us for a member of school staff, you acknowledge that:
- any information provided in relation to the ID badge will be stored on the council’s secure database. This includes the photograph of the badge holder
- the ID badge you order is used for school business only, and not subject to fraudulent use.
Before you start
You must provide a photograph of the badge holder for the ID badge. This could be:
- a digital photograph of the badge holder. You'll need to upload this to the form
- the photograph on the badge holder’s last badge. You can do this if it was taken less than two years ago and you are requesting a replacement
- a printed photograph, for example from a photo booth or photo printing shop. You’ll need to send this to us.
Before you fill in the form, you must make sure the photo of the badge holder meets our photograph guidelines:
Place your order
Follow the steps below to purchase a new ID badge for a member of staff.
1Open the online form
Use the button below to open the online form.
Select the Next button.
2Badge type
For ID badge type you require, choose School ID Badge.
Select Next.
3Badge owner
From the ID badge type you require field, choose Staff.
From the Application type dropdown, if you are ordering an ID badge for:
- an existing employee, select Existing employee, then go to step 4
- a new employee, select New Entrant to the School, then go to step 5.
4Current ID badge details
Enter the first and last name of the badge holder.
Now enter the following as displayed on the existing ID badge:
- name currently appearing on the badge
- job title.
From the School dropdown, select the name of the school.
Now select the reason why the badge needs to be replaced, such as change of job or lost badge.
5New ID badge details
Enter the first and last name of the badge holder.
In the Name to appear on badge field, type the name you want to be displayed on the badge. For example, someone’s name could be Jane Smith, but the badge name should be Miss Smith.
In the Job title field, enter the badge holder’s current job title.
From the School dropdown, select the name of the school.
6Badge fastening
Select one of the following fastening options included in the cost of the ID badge:
- a clip that the badge holder can attach to their ID badge, and then clip it to clothing, such as on a trouser pocket or waistband.
- a metal chain, which the badge holder can attach to their ID badge and wear it around their neck.
- one hole, this is a hole punched into the ID badge so the school’s own lanyard can be attached.
- no fastening means that the badge holder will only receive an ID badge.
7The photograph
You now need to tell us how you wish to supply the photograph. Select the relevant option below and follow the instructions:
8Payment details
The form will ask you how you would like to pay. You can either:
- request an invoice to be emailed to the school (if your school has its own bank account)
- provide your cost and detail code.
You’ll also be asked for an email address, and to type it again to confirm it.
Select the Next button.
Then select Submit.
9What happens next
Your badge will be produced within two to three weeks (dependent on the team workload). It will be delivered to your school via Royal Mail.
