    This scheme allows eligible employees to apply for a loan to buy a car, van, or motorbike for both personal and Council-related use. Applicants must have a valid driving licence, passed probation, and not be involved in disciplinary proceedings. Loans are capped at 50% of gross annual salary and must be repaid via salary deductions over a set period depending on the vehicle's age. Comprehensive insurance with business cover is mandatory. Used vehicles require an approved inspection and valuation. Applications must be authorised by the employee's Manager and director, and repayment terms are outlined in a formal agreement. Strategic Pay Services manages the scheme and provides support throughout the process.
