  • Shared parental leave policy

This policy outlines the rights and procedures for eligible employees to share up to 50 weeks of leave and 37 weeks of pay within the first year of their child's birth or adoption. It enables both parents to flexibly divide leave and pay, either simultaneously or at different times. It provides guidance on:
    • Eligibility
    • The process for requesting or changing leave
    • Shared parental leave in touch (SPLIT) days
    • Neonatal care leave and pay
    • Miscarriage, stillbirth and disrupted placements
    • The impact of shared parental leave on pensions and other employment terms.

The policy ensures both employees and Managers/headteachers understand their responsibilities and the range of support available for employees.
