Sustained exceptional performance policy and procedure
This policy outlines the council process for awarding discretionary performance increments to NJC employees (excluding teachers and Soulbury staff) who demonstrate exceptional and sustained performance. Eligible employees must have held the main rate of pay for at least 12 months and show consistent, outstanding contributions beyond their role expectations. Applications are assessed through a structured process involving managers, budget holders, People Services, Finance, and a Corporate Panel. Successful applicants receive a permanent pay increment. The policy includes detailed criteria, application forms, flowcharts for corporate and school support staff, and an appeal process for rejected applications.
Please note: this document should be read in line with the
sustained exceptional performance guidance.
