  • Retraining and redeployment

The policy outlines the Council's commitment to retaining employees whose roles are ending or who can no longer perform their duties due to reasons such as redundancy, ill health, disability, or harassment. Eligible employees are placed on a Redeployment Register and supported by a Personal Liaison Contact to identify suitable alternative roles. Priority is given to redeployees who meet essential criteria or can be trained within a reasonable timeframe. The policy includes provisions for trial periods, reasonable adjustments, and appeals, ensuring fair, consistent, and lawful redeployment while maintaining continuity of employment.
