Breastfeeding/chestfeeding guidance
These guidelines outline our commitment to supporting employees who wish to continue breastfeeding, chestfeeding, or expressing milk upon returning to work. While not legally required to provide breaks or facilities, the Council encourages Managers to be flexible and accommodating, offering reasonable paid time and suitable private spaces where possible. The guidance promotes open communication, temporary adjustments to working patterns, and the use of risk assessments to ensure a safe and supportive environment. It also includes practical advice, links to related policies, and signposts to internal and external support services.
