4.Book an interpretation service - other services

    Introduction

    Once you have followed steps 1, 2 and 3, and identified the language that your customer speaks (if required), you can use the instructions below to book an interpretation service (except a voice or video call).

    Please note:

    If you need an interpretation either out of hours or in an emergency, these are requested in the same way as non-urgent bookings but will be given priority.

    Schedule an interpretation service

    Follow the steps below to schedule any interpretation service (except the telephone or video interpreting service), you can schedule these through the video or telephone portal.

    Open the AA Global main portal

    Use the button below to open the application. Then log in using your unique username and password.

    Start a booking

    Create a booking

    Under the My Bookings menu, select Create a Booking.

    Select interpretation service from the list

    Select the interpretation service you require from the dropdown list. In this example, we've selected Face to Face Interpreting.

    Fill in the form

    Add booking details

    To complete the form, enter:

    • your title, first name and last name
    • the name and age (if relevant) of the service user
    • details of why the service is required
    • how long you require for the meeting.
    Make sure you allow enough time for your meeting

    You can expect it to take around 50 per cent longer with an interpreter present. Make sure you allow time for introductions too.

    Add special requirements

    Use the Special Requirements text field to add any other details related to the booking.

    If your customer is a member of a resettlement programme, you must also add:

    • the customer’s last name
    • their resettlement reference number.

    Select the Create Booking button.

    What happens next

    AA Global will assign your request to a suitable interpreter. They will then email you to confirm your booking.

    It is important that you make sure you prepare for the meeting so you can get the most out of it. You should also brief the interpreter so that they know what to expect. Make sure you read our top tips to help you prepare for, and carry out, the interpretation meeting.

    Please note:

    If your customer does not know their group number, you can:

    Resettlement programme references

    For members of the:

    • Homes for Ukraine Scheme, use UHS as your reference.
    • Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (Syrian or Afghan only), ask your customer for their VPR group number
    • Vulnerable Children’s Resettlement Scheme (Syrian or Afghan only), ask your customer for their RVC group number.
