    Role profiles explained

Role profiles are used to understand the level and size of a post in relation to other posts within the council for grading purposes. They describe the main components, impact and complexity of a post rather than task level detail which are found in the job outline.

    A role profile contains the:

    • role purpose
    • accountabilities
    • knowledge, skills and experience required
    • dimensions of role
    • working conditions
    • working arrangements

Role profiles describe at least 80% of a post and may be tailored to a service area or apply to many roles across the council.
