Bullying and harassment:

7.Someone has raised a complaint about you

On this page:

    Introduction

If a complaint has been raised against you, the information below will help you prepare for any discussions or complaint procedures that may be required to resolve the issue.

    Guidance

If a complaint has been raised about you, it may be helpful to:

    • keep a personal record detailing any contact, dates, times, witnesses or informal approaches made to you
    • consider whether informal/early resolution approaches could help resolve the situation
    • at the appropriate time, listen to the person and the concerns that they are raising
    • engage in a supported conversation, if it’s offered
    • read and understand the bullying and harassment procedure and seek support, where needed.

We have produced some guidance in appendix 2 of the bullying and harassment policy and procedure documents for employees who have had a complaint raised against them. This guidance includes:

    • what you can do to prepare
    • the support available to you
    • what will happen during the investigation
    • the possible outcomes.
