Introduction

Our Families First Partnership programme is something we are going to build and co-design together.

As we are at an early stage in developing our local approach for the East Riding we want you to get involved and share your views. Your experience and ideas will help shape how we deliver this in a way that works for our communities.

Whether you work in our children’s service or another team within the council, your voice matters.

Take part in our surveys

We have developed three co-design surveys to gather further opinions and make sure the right people have a say in how we shape our approach.

The three surveys are aimed at the following groups:

• families
• young people
• voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.

We encourage you to complete our families survey and share the relevant ones with any young people or VCSE organisations you work with and mention it during visits, meetings or group sessions. The closing date to respond to all three surveys is Tuesday 30 June.

The more responses we get the better we can understand what people need to help inform our co-designed approach.

Co-design events

Good progress has been made following the first co-design events with the children's, families and schools directorate.

Further co-design opportunities for VCSE organisations are currently being planned in Beverley and online via Microsoft Teams, helping us reach even more partners. These sessions will directly shape the final blueprint for how the Families First Partnership will work in practice.

Everything we hear from staff, families and partners feeds into the blueprint. From there, we'll build a clear target operating model that sets out how the partnership will run.

Request a talk for your team

If you would like to find out more about the Families First Partnership, share your team's experiences, or put forward ideas about how it could work locally, you can request a visit from the FFP team at a time that suits you.

You should discuss this with your manager first before making the request.

When they come to visit you, the team will:

• explain the national background and what the changes mean in practice
• share the aims and objectives of our local partnership
• tell you where we are in developing our own model
• take onboard your suggestions
• answer any questions you have.

To request a visit, you can:

Communications champions

Communications champions are volunteers who:

• have an interest in improving children's lives and our Families First Partnership
• receive regular updates about the programme
• are encouraged to share updates with colleagues and in team meetings
• provide feedback to the FFP team.
